InTune Wellness 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Teach Yoga with Heart, Passion and Purpose
What is offered in the curriculum?
Our curriculum (Ashtangasana) is provided in two manuals, the Student Manual and the Asana Manual.
The Student Manual includes 10 chapters covering:
- History and Philosophy of Yoga – 8 limbs
- The Practice of Meditation – types and practices
- Pranayama – Breathing methodology
- Teaching the Poses – Everything from A to Z on how to teach
- Class Creation – sequencing, progressions, transitions, themes, Levels, Sun Salutations, Constructing postures
- Being a Great Yoga Teacher – The qualities and practices of becoming your best at teaching.
- Ayurvedic Medicine
- The Business of Yoga
- Off-site Excursions such as Cadaver Lab
- Volunteer Teaching Opportunities
The Asana Manual is comprised of 108 poses that you will learn and study throughout the course. Much of your homework will be studying the postures and when/where to use them.
What is the focus? What types of Yoga will we study?
Our main goal is to give you all the tools you need to become a confident and successful yoga teacher. The styles and traditions of yoga that we will focus on are Hatha. Teachings will be influenced by other types as well such as Ashtanga, Power, Anusara, Restorative and others. The foundational teachings, however, will be in Yoga Practices and traditions and the Eight Limbs of Yoga as taught by Patanjali.
How do I know this training is right for me?
This training is right for you if you are ready to commit to transformation, both on a personal and a professional level! Do you love yoga and want to dive deeper? Do you talk about it with your friends? Are you curious to know more about meditation, chakras, and teaching methodologies? Are you excited to share your knowledge with others? Well, this is the place to make it happen!
Can I bring my child to class?
In a word, no (though there may be a few exceptions to this rule). Class times and curriculum will be outlined in advanced. Please make arrangements to be present without distractions, as you would for any other professional or university class setting.
How much yoga experience is required?
We do not require a certain number of hours of experience in order to attend this teacher training. However, this is an intense college-like training. It is to your advantage and our recommend that you have at least practiced yoga consistently for 6-12 months. A good foundation will shorten the learning curve and provide a base for deeper comprehension. That said, your passion for learning and willingness to come prepared with an open mind, to jump in and immerse yourself in the teachings will be the determining factor on how rich your return is on your investment. You will get out what you put in.
What books are required and will they cost extra? Will I need to read them prior to class?
Your tuition includes the YTT 200 Hour Student Manual and Asana Manual. The 5 required books are extra. Most of these books can be found on Amazon.com between $10 – $14. These will serve as study material during the course. You are not required to read them beforehand though it is encouraged if you are in a position to do so.
